Welcome.

Omar Ruiz-Diaz is/was bicycling through Europe, one stage of his Round the World Expedition. He began his world travels in 1991 and passed through 34 countries with the message of encouraging attention to environmental issues and, particulary, the use of the bicycle.

It`s a life of adventure and challenge with respect to the environment. With this in mind he has created a website called ECOADVENTURES, with the slogan «Quality of life means Quality of Air». The site includes daily travel reports plus a link to all the sponsors who assist along the way.

Among the aims of the project is promotion of the use of alternative transportation (bus, train, bicycle) in big cities thereby alleviating traffic jams and creating more bike paths to lessen pollution.

Meeting with political leaders to raise consciousness of the need to share urban space on city streets with cyclists is a regular part of the project.

Omar invites everyone to participate in Ecoadventures by sharing a spirit to promote a healthy planet. There are many issues requiring attention and plenty of opportunity to make a difference.

With the dream of achieving these goals, the Ecoadventures Project relies solely on donations from interested parties.

Thank you for your contribution.

Advantages >>>>>>>>>>>>
Cyclists don't create problems of space nor do bikes require large parking areas.
The bicycle doesn't consume gasoline and is economically accessible to everyone.
For short distances, the only rival of the bicycle is the motorbike, but it doesn't contaminate the air nor does it make noise.
Bicycle riders tend to be more amiable, responsible and conscious of the respect afforded to nature.
A cyclist needs to constantly exercise a state of alertness and sense of direction.
Bicycling is an aerobic workout, a circulatory exercise which the body can do within the boundaries of it's own limits. The rhythmic and constant movement of air in and out of the lungs and through the arteries brings oxygen to the blood and to the muscles.
A cyclist uses five times more calories than a pedestrian in covering the same distance. Because the bicycle seat can hold the weight of the body, one's strength can be used to turn the wheels and carry cargo.
